Art All-State Artist/Mentor Information

Who Can Be An Artist/Mentor
Professional artists from all media are invited to apply to become artist/mentors. Experience teaching and/or working with adolescents is beneficial but not required. Each year, sixteen professional artists are selected to become artist/mentors at Art All-State.

Selection Process
Interested candidates should submit six to ten images in slide or digital format along with their resume and letter of interest by October 31st (postmark date) to: Manager, Art All-State, Worcester Art Museum, 55 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.

The Art All-State Steering Committee reviews resumes and images in November. Several candidates are invited to meet with members of the Steering Committee during interviews in December. Notification is sent in late January or early February.

Selected Artist/Mentors
Artist/Mentors are divided into eight pairs of collaborators. Artist pairs are responsible for planning and leading groups of sixteen to eighteen student participants during Art All-State. A required orientation is held on a Saturday morning in March or April when Artist/Mentors have the opportunity to meet their collaborators and begin the planning process. Those artists selected to participate in Art All-State are awarded a $550 honorarium, dorm housing, all meals during the event and the opportunity to exhibit their work in the Education Wing during Art All-State.
