Worcester Art Museum comes alive for our 8th annual Flora in Winter celebration, the premier floral design event of the year. Skilled artisans from across New England create clever, provocative interpretations of works from the Museum's collection. Public spaces are adorned with arrangements by area florists. It's a succulent feast for the eyes and spirit in the middle of winter! Flora in Winter is proudly held in collaboration with Tower Hill Botanic Garden (THGB). Garden Club Day at WAM
Thursday, January 28, 12-3pm (Snow date: Friday, January 29, 12-3pm)
Enjoy a special day of Flora just for Garden Club members. Begin with a lunch at noon in our Conference Room followed by a Flora in Winter Chairman's Tour of the Galleries from 1-2pm; from 2-3pm learn design secrets and flower arranging techniques during a Demonstration by legendary arranger Julie Lapham. Come early at 11am and stay late until 5pm to wander through the galleries and breathe in the fresh aromas of spring! Price for Garden Club Day: $25 WAM Members, $40 nonmembers (includes Museum admission.) Reservations required; space is limited. Call 508.799.4406 x3025.

Opening Celebration: Flora Euphoria!
Thursday, January 28, 5:30-8pm
Renaissance Court/Galleries
$10 WAM/THBG Members; $20 nonmembers, no RSVP required.
Celebrate Flora in Winter at its freshest during this evening soirée. Visit with friends, wander the galleries, and be inspired! Live music, light hors d'oeuvres, and a cash bar add to the festivities.

Floral Demonstration: Interpretive Challenge
Friday, January 29, 3-4:30pm
Renaissance Court
Free with Museum admission, no RSVP required.
Watch and learn as a select group of arrangers, Betty Call-Stow Garden Club; Beverly McClure-Floral Elegance, North Grafton; Thelma Shoneman-Acton Garden Club; Cathy Walsh-Sprout, Worcester craft interesting floral designs inspired by the Chapter House and the Renaissance Court. The finished arrangements will be on view to enjoy for the duration of Flora and will be raffled off on Sunday, January 31.

NEW! Family Fun: Music with Mr. Kim
Saturday, January 30, 11:30am-12:30pm

Free with Museum admission, no RSVP required.
Bring your kids with you and be thoroughly entertained by Mr. Kim Webster, a consummate musician and puppeteer. Mr. Kim's music is sure to be a crowd pleaser for the whole family!

Join Instructor and Flower Designer Kaye Vosburgh as she reveals fresh ideas about Ikebana design. Don't miss this world-class design experience!

Artist Demonstration with Sue Swinand

Lancaster Lobby
Free with Museum admission, no RSVP required.
Join artist and WAM faculty member Sue Swinand as she paints an original work of art, inspired by an installation from Flora. Ask her questions about the creative process and inspiration.

Concert: Choral Music
Saturday, January 30, 4pm
Renaissance Court
Free with Museum admission, no RSVP required.
The Blackstone Valley Community Chorus and The St. Peter-Marian High School Chorus will fill the Renaissance Court with enchanting choral music. Both groups are under the direction of Diane Pollard.

NEW! For Kids of All Ages: Origami Flowers

Join expert Dennis Brannon and learn the fine art of Origami. Create your own flowers and take a piece of Flora in Winter home with you!

Concert: Choir and Violin Ensemble
Sunday, January 31, 2pm
Renaissance Court
Free with Museum admission, no RSVP required.
The Shrewsbury High School Women's Choir under the direction of Michael Lapomardo and Pakachoag Music School of Greater Worcester's Unison of Strings under the direction of Dr. Maxim Korn will provide delightful ambiance for the final afternoon of Flora.
