Until the late 20th century, South Asian modern art had a disproportionately limited presence in American museums. Join Nishad Avari (Christie’s New York) for a look at the journeys of modern art and artists from the South Asian subcontinent to North America, including a spotlight on the Worcester Art Museum’s Herwitz Collection and the role WAM played in building bridges between these worlds. Experience many of these works on view in Im/Perfect Modernisms: Asian Art and Identity Since 1945 (October 5, 2024–January 20, 2025).
