PreK-12 learners are equipped with an openness and creativity that allows for deep connections with art. A school visit to the Worcester Art Museum has the potential to create lifelong museum-lovers. We invite you to book a guided visit led by Museum docents or a self-guided visit, which allows you to lead your students through the Museum.
Reservations are required for all groups visiting the Museum and must be booked at least three weeks in advance.
Tours run during the Museum’s open hours 10 am-4 pm, Wednesday through Sunday.

Chaperones are responsible for supervising students during their museum visit.
Guided tours for groups of ten or more are generally one hour in length unless otherwise requested. A maximum of 80 students per visit is recommended.
Designing Your Tour
Visit our permanent collections and special exhibitions with museum-trained docents as your guides! Explore the history of visual arts and their link to language arts, history, social science, mathematics, and other disciplines. Our tours are designed to assist students of all ages to experience and enjoy art.
Add art to your STEM curriculum with a STEAM tour or let us design a tour on a topic of your choice. Popular topics include American Art and Culture; Animals in Art; Arts of Asia; Echoes of Antiquity; Medieval and Renaissance; or Museum Discovery.
Scholarships
Group Tour Scholarships are available for schools in need of financial assistance. Interested groups should complete the Tour Scholarship Request Form and submit it to the Group Tour Coordinator.

Art Studio Workshop
Enhance your visit with an art making experience. The Museum’s Studio Art Faculty will lead your group in a workshop creating with clay, paint, collage materials, printmaking supplies, or other materials. Workshops are designed with your specific interests and objectives in mind. Options may include Greek Pottery; Egyptian Cartouches; Illuminated Letters; Aluminum Tooling; Roman Mosaics; Portraiture; Landscape Painting; and more!
Arms and Armor Presentation
Enhance your visit to the Museum’s Ancient, Medieval, and Renaissance galleries with an arms and armor presentation. Themed presentations are led by a costumed interpreter and include Medieval Armor, Roman Soldier, The Viking Age, 14th-Century Knight, and The Gothic Knight.
Presentations run 45-60 minutes.
