The Worcester Art Museum Celebrates the Return of Spring and the 125th Anniversary of the Museum

Full day of activities takes place on Sunday, May 7 from 10am to 4pm

WORCESTER—April 27, 2022— The Worcester Art Museum will Celebrate Spring and the Museum’s 125th anniversary with a full day of free admission and programming on Sunday May 7 from 10am to 4pm. There will be activities throughout the day for all ages, as we welcome another spring into the Museum through performances, art making, face painting, and much more.

Performances and demonstrations will include the traditional Lion Dance, a Chinese-Vietnamese dance that dates back over 1,000 years and will be performed by the Southeast Asia Coalition’s Worcester Youth Nian Dancers. In addition, A Silent Soapbox will present a living sculpture within the galleries, and students and faculty from the College of the Holy Cross, under the direction of Matthew Jaskot will offer diverse musical pieces performed in the Renaissance court.

“This year we are excited to be hosting performances and demonstrations that are free to the community and to be celebrating the Museum’s 125th anniversary.” says Aileen Novick, manager of Education and Public Programs at the Worcester Art Museum.

All programs and activities are FREE and will be held at the Worcester Art Museum, 55 Salisbury Street in Worcester, MA. Museum parking is free but limited. For directions and a map of additional parking around the Museum, visit: http://www.worcesterart.org/visit/
