Volunteering

Inquiries

Volunteers are an integral part of the Worcester Art Museum! In the galleries, library or offices, at special events, at the Visitor Service Desk, or elsewhere in and out of the Museum, our volunteers’ service is invaluable to making the Worcester Art Museum function smoothly.

We appreciate your interest in volunteering at the Worcester Art Museum; however, we are not accepting new volunteer applications at this time.

Docent program

The Worcester Art Museum offers a comprehensive program, from training to continuing education, for volunteer docents. Docents teach in the galleries and broaden the experience of all visitors they meet. They conduct tours of both the Museum’s permanent collections and special exhibitions. Tours are both prearranged through the Department of Education and Experience and drop-in public tours. These volunteers are a part of the Museum’s interpretation services to audiences of all ages, abilities, and interests.
