Comprised of over 5,000 objects , post-modern and contemporary art accounts for just over 6 percent of the Museum’s total collection. The Museum’s collection of global post-modern and contemporary art encompasses works made between 1945 and today.
The dynamic subjects and experimental forms created by artists in this period reflect the rapid technological advances and transformative social movements that have defined recent generations.
Among the highlights are works by artists such as Nam June Paik, Faith Ringgold, Dread Scott, Andy Warhol, and many others. Objects from the post-modern and contemporary collection have diverse and compelling stories to tell.
