Kamishibai was a popular way to tell stories in Japan before television. It is a form of Japanese Street Theater that was popular from the 1930s through the post-war period. The stories were told by a kamishibaiya ("kamishibai narrator") who travelled to street corners with sets of illustrated boards that were placed in a cabinet or stage-like creation. In Kamishibai there were pictures that went with the stories just like with manga and anime. Join us as Kamishibai Man, Shunsuke Yamaguchi, shares two stories and then answers your questions. Watch via Facebook Live or register for the Zoom. http://6230a.blackbaudhosting.com/6230a/tickets?tab=2&txobjid=0bf5032b-4381-4f78-b76f-d83c2f7aac70
