Talk: Behind the Scenes with Arms and Armor

As work continues on the upcoming Arms and Armor Galleries (opening in late 2025), join curator Jeffrey Forgeng and conservator Bill MacMillan for a behind-the-scenes look at recent discoveries in the Higgins Armory Collection. Preparation for the new galleries has involved extensive work with the over 1,000 objects that will be on view: researching their history, capturing them in photography and digital models, deciding how to present and interpret them, and making them ready for display. At this talk, Forgeng and MacMillan will share some of the noteworthy experiences, revelations, and surprises that have emerged during this monumental undertaking.
