To enter the Museum, please use the Lancaster Street entrance or the Salisbury Street entrance. Both entrances are fully accessible.

The Worcester Art Museum is located at 55 Salisbury Street, just off Route 290 in Worcester. Allow approximately 45 minutes if traveling from Boston, 45 minutes from Providence, and 1 hour from Hartford.

From Boston

Exit on right to 290 East (Shrewsbury / Marlboro). Get off at Exit 21 (old Exit 17) – Route 9 (Ware / Framingham). Left at light on West 9 / Belmont Street. Proceed to the fourth set of lights at the top of the hill. Turn right onto Harvard Street. The Museum is on the left at the second traffic light (Salisbury Street).

From Fitchburg or Leominster

Take Route 190 South to Route 290 West to Exit 21 (old Exit 18) – Lincoln Street. Bear right off the exit ramp onto Lincoln Street. Then make a quick right onto Concord Street. Concord Street will turn into Salisbury Street. At the second traffic light turn left onto Lancaster Street. The Museum is on the left.

From Hartford, CT

Take Route 84 East to Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90) East to Exit 90 (old Exit 10) – Auburn. After the tollbooth, bear left at the fork. Take 290 East – Shrewsbury / Marlboro. Get off at Exit 21 (old Exit 17) – Route 9 (Ware / Framingham). Left at light on West 9 / Belmont Street. Proceed to the fourth set of lights at the top of the hill. Turn right onto Harvard Street. The Museum is on the left at the second traffic light (Salisbury Street).

From New Hampshire

Take Route 495 South to Route 290. Follow to Exit 21 (old Exit 18) – Lincoln Street. Bear right off the exit ramp onto Lincoln Street. Then make a quick right onto Concord Street. Concord Street will turn into Salisbury Street. At the second traffic light turn left onto Lancaster Street. The Museum is on the left.

From Providence, Millbury or Sutton

Take Route 146 to Route 290 East (Shrewsbury / Marlboro). Get off at Exit 21 (old Exit 17) – Route 9 (Ware / Framingham). Left at light on West 9 /Belmont Street. Proceed to the fourth set of lights at the top of the hill. Turn right onto Harvard Street. The Museum is on the left at the second traffic light (Salisbury Street).

From Springfield

Take Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90) East to Exit 90 (old Exit 10) – Auburn. Bear left at the fork. Take 290 East – Shrewsbury / Marlboro. Public Transportation

Parking at WAM

Guests have self-parking options provided by the Museum free of charge on Lancaster and Salisbury Streets. The Salisbury and Lancaster Street parking lots have accessible parking spaces and barrier-free entrances to the Museum. The Tuckerman Street lot is currently closed due to construction.

In addition, free street parking is available around the Museum, and metered spots are available one block away in the Highland Street Municipal Parking Lot.
